From the past months my mother has not been feeling well lately and was always in and out of the hospital. She would use a wheelchair always because her legs were so swollen. I could not accommodate her at my place because I was renting a 1-bedroom apartment in Pretoria.

 There are walkways of 7.4 km for all residents to enjoy.

My mother never felt bored because she could always refresh and exercise outside in the beautiful, lovely garden. During weekends I would take her out to the nearby restaurants that include Square Time, Blos Café, AgterPlaas as well as Olympus Tea Garden. She really enjoyed this since most of the times she will be indoors trying to recover.

The greatest thing you can do to comfort someone you love who isn’t feeling well is simply to listen. Oftentimes when a friend or family member is ill. We try so hard to make them feel better, that we push solutions they might not be comfortable with. So, I tried hard to engage my mother in activities that she loved to do before she fell sick.

I would take her to nearby places of interest that are located in Boardwald so that she can refresh her mind. The places close to our 2-bedroom apartment include Hedianga Farm, Radley M M, Intiem Love Bridge as well as Boardwalk Bird Sanctuary.
