I visited South Africa for a week business trip, and I was staying in a hotel for that period. The week I was supposed to start the meetings is the week when the president announced national lockdown. The national lockdown imposed by government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus demanded that people stay at home and limit contact with others while practicing increased personal hygiene for twenty-one days.

I quickly decided to look for a self-catering fully furnished apartment for the whole month that is affordable. I found a beautiful apartment on Private Property that was to let by Feel-at-Home Properties with good facilities which include free uncapped Wi-Fi that would help to do business meetings online and also Skype my family back in Nigeria, free Netflix  that made my days to be more relaxing and Inverter backup for load shedding.

The apartment is good enough for single occupants desiring space. La Piroque 106 is a neat one-bedroom bottom stack unit in a popular security complex situated in Elardus Park that is located within 1 km from Cornwall and Elarduspark Shopping Mall. It is also located close to all amenities that includes schools, shopping malls and medical facilities.

La Piroque 106 features an open-plan kitchen with stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee and tea making facilities, crockery and cutlery. Washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.  Free-standing gas stove in case of load shedding. A bedroom fitted with an extra-length, queen-size bed. Neatly appointed and fully tiled bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.

This beautiful apartment has Braai facilities available on enclosed private patio that overlooks vast and neatly kept gardens of the complex. The complex has a large well-maintained pool, is clean and neat and a club house. Lots of visitors parking is provided. It offers 24-hour security with electric fence which makes the complex to be safer.

This complex is ideally situated just off Solomon Mahlangu Road (Hans Strijdom) with easy access to the N1 and R21 which makes it more accessible. Restaurants are also close by this apartment include Barcelona, Romans, Steers, Friendship Chinese, KFC, Ocean Basket, Pizza Perfect and Alcona Spur although I never visited any because of the national lockdown that left all the business to close until the three weeks are over.

La Piroque complex is situated only a few hundred meters from Boeing street and just a few minutes away from the N14, multiple schools such as Waterkloof Christenskool, Laerskool Elarduspark, The Village Waldorf Independetnt Primary School, Pretoria Chinese School, Carpe Diem Academy and shopping centres. It is located close to CSIR and Armscor.
